Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just across the border from nearby Thailand, where gambling den gaming is prohibited. Eight gambling dens are based in a generally tiny space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent location, a three to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing income acquired from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million, and there are a number of restrictions constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; although, investment sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and despite the fact visas are allegedly needed to pass, there are methods around this, as is real of most borders.

The 1st Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau gambling hall, contains 150 one armed bandits and sixty table games. The Naga river boat never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon followed. There are 150 slot machine games and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred one armed bandits and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and 96 gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat banque (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and sixty six of the normal tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight casinos in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around resort and hotel compound that contains numerous luxuries aside from the gambling den, which houses 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and 88 table games.
