Cambodia Casinos
There is a captivating history to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just across the dividing line from next door Thailand, in which gambling den gambling is banned. Eight gambling halls are based in a relatively tiny location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia casinos is in a prime area, a three to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The astonishing capital gained from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million, and there are a couple of limitations requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; although, investment sources are vague. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 1700, and even though visas are allegedly needed to pass, there are ways around this, as is true of many borders.
The initial Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only 1 gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau gambling den, features 150 slots and sixty table games. The Naga river boat never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The 1st gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly opened. There are 150 one armed bandits and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machine games and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slot machine games and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and 96 gaming tables, including 87 punto banco (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and sixty six of the common gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international resort and hotel complex that contains many luxuries aside from the gambling den, which contains 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slots and 88 tables.
